Brayberry’s Jes ‘N Thyme
Well what a surprise. Not sure what we were expecting but we are ecstatic about this little guy. We purchased his mom to pair with Main Event. She was in foal to Ass-pirin Acres Jes N’ Credible, an LN Rising Son son when we brought her home. We weren’t familiar with Jes so did not know what to expect, but it certainly wasn’t this. This little guy, “Jesse” was quite a surprise. He is small and perfectly conformed. Nice wide straight legs and topline. On top of all that he is the most beautiful color. Carrying red from his dad and obviously getting black from mom, he was born as close to russet as we’ve ever seen in a donkey. He has patches of red with black roaned in and solid black legs. We are told most of these foals eventually go brown but we’re keeping our fingers crossed he retains some of his pretty foal coat color. We are anxious to see how he matures.
July 2011: At 10 months old Jesse is a pretty red-brown color but unfortunately has an underbite and therefore has been gelded. He is a beautiful little donkey and would make an outstanding pet or show gelding.
**Update**: Jesse named 2013 Champion Gelding and Reserve Grand Champion at the Ozark Empire Fair Show in Springfield, MO. Shown by his new owner Sandy Thomas.
