Brayberry’s A Star Is Born
Star has matured into everything we had hoped for. She is now one of our breeding jennets. She traveled to show with the team on two occasions and placed second in her halter class as a 2yo at the 2013 NMDA National Show. Here’s a few pics at that show.

UPDATE: May 2016, Star gives birth to her first foal…a beautiful dark brown jack with a pretty impressive star himself. See Brayberry’s Trickstar (trick-ster) on our 2016 foals page.
Star’s Baby Page:
We had been keeping our fingers crossed that this one would be a girl. We had decided that Noranda should probably start slowing down, we were planning to let her foal once more (after this one) and then retire to a life of luxury. We really (really) wanted her pedigree in one more jennet though. She is from the old original imported bloodlines (the great Luigi, the Belleau herd and Cristofo Colombo…the first miniature donkey born in America), her beginnings trace back to the very beginnings of miniature donkeys in our country. A solid pedigree from foundation stock and the earliest registered donkeys in the country…
So we were jumping up and down when she presented her gorgeous little dark girl with dad’s signature star and blue eyes to boot. Star is Main Event’s fourth foal of the season and the third with either gray or blue eyes. Very stunning! We could not be happier about this one…spittin’ image of her dad. Below are a couple of closeups of her unusual eye color (click pictures for larger image).
